How to use Invisible Watermark

  1. 1Pick a work image to tag and type an owner/ID string (e.g. "asset-42, recipient A"). Keep this string — you need it to detect.
  2. 2Click Embed watermark — your browser stamps an imperceptible signature into the image and offers a PNG download.
  3. 3To check a copy later, switch to Detect, load the image, and enter the SAME owner/ID string.
  4. 4Click Detect — a high correlation confirms the watermark is present; a low one means it is absent or was destroyed.
  5. 5Remember the watermark is fragile: JPEG, resize, crop, or social-media upload will destroy it.

Invisible Watermark FAQ

How is a watermark different from hiding a message?
Hiding a message (the free tools) conceals secret CONTENT. A watermark tags ORIGIN — it embeds an owner/ID signature so you can later prove an image is yours, or trace which recipient's copy leaked. It does not hide a message's contents.
Do I need the original image to detect the watermark?
No — detection is blind. You enter the same owner/ID string you embedded and the tool correlates the image against the signature it derives from that string. A watermarked copy matches strongly; an unmarked or differently-marked copy does not.
Is the watermark permanent and undetectable?
It is visually imperceptible (only the low bits of one channel, at scattered positions), but it is NOT permanent: re-saving as JPEG, resizing, cropping, or social-media upload re-encodes the pixels and destroys it. It is deterrence against casual re-use, not forensic DRM, and a determined adversary can strip it.
